Job Description:
As the Head of Trading at IC Markets, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our forex and CFD trading operations. Your expertise in financial markets and trading strategies will be crucial to maintaining our reputation as a world-class trading provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute trading strategies aligned with IC Markets’ financial objectives;
- Stay abreast of global market trends, economic events, and geopolitical developments to inform trading decisions;
- Monitor and manage trading risks, including market, credit, and operational risks;
- Implement robust risk mitigation strategies and ensure strict adherence to risk limits;
- Oversee and optimize trade execution across a wide range of forex and CFD instruments;
- Maintain a keen focus on trade execution quality, minimizing slippage and latency;
- Evaluate and implement algorithmic trading strategies as appropriate;
- Analyse trading performance metrics, P&L, and risk exposures regularly;
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies;
- Prepare comprehensive trading performance reports for senior management;
- Recruit, train, mentor and guide the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning/improvement to maintain a high-performing team of traders;
- Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback to team members;
- Stay at the forefront of trading technologies and platforms;
- Assess and implement cutting-edge trading software to enhance trading capabilities;
- Uphold compliance and industry best practices to ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements governing forex and CFD trading;
- Collaborate closely with the Compliance team about regulatory changes and drive necessary adjustments in trading practices;
- Collaborate closely with the client support and sales teams to address client inquiries and concerns; and
- Uphold IC Markets’ reputation for exceptional client service through trading excellence.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred);
- Proven track record of senior trading or trading management roles in forex and CFD markets;
- Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills;
- In-depth knowledge of trading strategies, risk management, and global financial markets;
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities;
- Proficiency in trading software and platforms;
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Thrives in a fast-paced and high-pressure trading environment.
