The Role:

We’re looking for a seasoned Cloud Engineer to join our IT team and help us build efficient and scalable cloud solutions for Pepperstone. Based in Melbourne, you’ll work closely with our Cloud Engineering team lead and be the go-to person for all things related to cloud technology and CI/CD Pipelines. Your role will involve guiding and supporting other engineers, as well as promoting the use of best practices across the organization.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based systems and services. We value open communication and teamwork, and your contributions will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure.

Your day-day responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud solutions that provide resilient architectures, scalability and reliability
  • Lead the design and management of cloud infrastructure through CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Work alongside the Cloud Engineering Team Lead to lead the implementation and execution of DevOps practices and tools including version control, code reviews, automated testing and containerization
  • Develop automation strategies to monitor and adjust performant cloud solutions
  • Develop and maintain data security processes to ensure networks, data stores, and applications remain secure
  • Lead technical problem solving and provide technical guidance to other engineers
  • Mentor junior engineers and train them on cloud technologies and tools

About You:

  • Minimum requirement of 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within development operations
  • Proven capability to effectively manage and drive organizational change (technical)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to and influence stakeholders at various levels
  • Proficiency in build and release pipelines, Blue/Green deployment, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Expertise in designing and overseeing cloud architectures, applications, and services
  • Excellent working knowledge of AWS and other relevant cloud technologies
  • Thorough understanding of automation, orchestration, and container technologies, such as Terraform, Ansible and ECS/EKS.
  • Extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of cloud architecture and technologies
  • Proficient in utilizing cloud engineering and DevOps best practices for designing, deploying, and maintaining solutions
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development by staying up to date with cloud industry trends, technologies and market changes
  • Current and full working rights in Australia.
