About the role
We are looking to hire a skilled Linux Engineer, to join our Platform function team in Copenhagen, which supports IT Operations. You will report to the Platform Teamlead.
In this role you will get the chance to work with Linux systems and Azure cloud infrastructure. Develop and implement DevOps practices using Azure DevOps for automation, continuous integration, and deployment of applications and infrastructure.
What you will be doing
- Manage and administer Linux-based systems, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain Azure-based solutions in line with business requirements.
- Participate in the design, configuration, and administration of Application Servers such as Weblogic, ensuring their smooth operation and integration with other systems.
- Work closely with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux, Azure cloud infrastructure, and application deployments.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations to improve overall system efficiency.
- Maintain documentation and provide knowledge transfer to team members and stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Linux, Azure, DevOps, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and solutions.

What we are looking for
To be the right candidate for this position, we expect you to have a demonstrated capability from an applicable role preferably within a bank, a financial service provider or a regulated entity. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (for junior candidates, a relevant university degree is required).
You have minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in supporting Linux/UNIX production environments and shell scripting.
- Solid experience administering Linux-based systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and practical experience in deploying and managing infrastructure in Azure.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools, including infrastructure as code, continuous integration and deployment, and configuration management (e.g., Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).
- Understanding of Application Servers, such as Weblogic, and experience in configuring and managing them in production environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automation and system administration tasks
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including development teams and business users. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
As a person, you are open-minded and have “I-can-do” attitude. You should take responsibility and take personal ownership of your tasks while also being a knowledge-sharing team-player producing and maintaining related documentation and reports. You have good communication skills in communicating security principles, issues and incidents to the business, peers and management.
As Banking Circle is an international company it’s a requirement, that you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. If you master other relevant languages it will be an asset.
